Adams Ranch Vineyard

MCA Cuvée

Almost entirely Adams Ranch Syrah and Grenache, but with a small pertenage of fruit from the James Berry Vineyard. Vinifcation follows the same protocol as the Adams Ranch and JBV wines, but a few barrels were pulled for the MCA Cuvée.

Appellation Central Coast, CA

  • Blend 70% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 5% Roussanne

    Alcohol % 15.5

The 2019 MCA Cuvee is mostly Syrah yet includes 25% Grenache and 5% Roussanne. It reveals a deep purple, almost opaque hue as well as a gorgeous nose of ripe black fruits, roasted herbs, violets, cured meats, and pepper, with classic Syrah game and bacon fat-like nuances emerging with time in the glass. Rich, full-bodied, yet light on its feet, it's more up-front and ready to go than the other cuvées here, yet I've no doubt this will evolve for over a decade. It's a brilliant bottle of wine!

  • Blend 56% Grenache, 24% Syrah, 11% Petite Sirah, 9% Zinfandel

    Alcohol % 15.6

The MCA Cuvée from Ledge is one of the great values out there and it always delivers the goods. The 2018 sports a dense ruby hue as well as a beautiful, elegant, medium to full-bodied style. With lots of juicy red and black berry-like fruit, notes of peppery herbs and flowers, no hard edges, and the purity and freshness that's common in the vintage, it's ideal for drinking any time over the coming 7-8 years.
